Overview:A dynamic and committed Teacher of Science is sought to join a supportive and forward-thinking educational environment. The successful candidate will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, contribute to curriculum development, and support students' academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Support the subject leader in developing the Science curriculum.
- Uphold the school's behaviour management systems to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
- Monitor and support the progress and development of students within the subject.
- Embed the Self-Directed Learning philosophy into lesson planning and delivery.
- Mentor students in either the Lower or Upper school.
- Provide opportunities for learning beyond the classroom, including enrichment activities.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by the leadership team.
General Duties:
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and integrity.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the wider vision of the school.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role.
- Adhere to all school policies, including those related to health & safety and data protection.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and performance appraisal.
Safeguarding Commitment:The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check with appropriate barred list checks, or the equivalent. They must demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Recent experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and forming appropriate relationships with students.
- Flexible, reliable, and adaptable approach to work.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting SEN pupils.
- Participation in recent professional development.
- Willingness to undertake further training and CPD.
