Southampton Contract - Minimum 6 Months (Potential Extension) Southampton City Council, is looking for an experienced Building Surveyor with a strong background in damp, mould, and disrepair to join their Housing Operations team on a long-term contract basis. These roles are ideally suited to surveyors who would like to build up their exposure to building pathology and expert witness work, their current work portfolio covers mainly housing disrepair, but also includes large loss surveying, and various other related disciplines. Role Description This is a remote role for a MRICS or FRICS Building Surveyor on a freelance basis. As a chartered surveyor, you will be responsible for a range of activities that include inspecting houses and apartments, conducting surveys, and assessing defects and producing associated repair specifications. You will work independently but with the full backing of a supportive team. Qualifications Hold an MRICS or FRICS professional designation. Have extensive experience in Building Surveying. You will have a working understanding of HHSRS and the Landlord & Tenant Act 1985. Demonstrate knowledge and experience in producing repair specifications. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Have good analytical and problem-solving skills. Have proficiency with Microsoft Office and Apple iOS devices and be comfortable with remote work technology.
