C2 Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join a successful and growing hospitality business just outside Shrewsbury.
Working alongside an experienced Head Chef, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional food, maintaining high kitchen standards and helping to develop a talented kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with fresh ingredients in a busy, professional kitchen and is looking to take the next step in their career.
The Role
As Sous Chef, you'll support the day-to-day running of the kitchen while leading by example and ensuring every service delivers consistently high standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Head Chef with the daily operation of the kitchen
Leading the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes using fresh ingredients
Assisting with menu development and seasonal specials
Training, mentoring and motivating junior chefs
Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health & safety and cleanliness standards
Managing stock, ordering and helping to minimise waste
Delivering consistently high-quality food during busy service periods
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
Previous experience as a Sous Chef, or an ambitious Chef de Partie ready to step up
A genuine passion for producing high-quality, fresh food
Experience working in a busy commercial kitchen
Strong organisational and communication skills
The ability to lead, motivate and develop others
A good understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance
A calm, positive attitude and the ability to perform well under pressure
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays when required
