Job Title: Town Planner
Location: Edinburgh
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading independent planning consultancy based in Edinburgh in their search for a Town Planner with 2+ years of post-graduate experience to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and forward-thinking planning practice working on a diverse range of projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use and regeneration sectors. The role offers strong exposure to high-quality work, client interaction, and clear progression within a supportive environment.
The Role
As a Town Planner, you will:
- Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
- Support senior planners on a variety of development projects across Scotland and the UK
- Undertake site appraisals, research and planning policy analysis
- Engage with clients, local authorities and stakeholders
- Contribute to project management and delivery of planning strategies
About You
- 2+ years' experience in town planning (private or public sector considered)
- RTPI accredited degree (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of Scottish planning policy and development management processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage workload and work collaboratively within a team
