The Role
As an MET Technician, you will be responsible for dismantling, repairing, and reassembling accident-damaged vehicles while ensuring every repair is completed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer and industry standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Stripping and refitting mechanical, electrical, and trim components
Inspecting vehicle structure, suspension, and mechanical systems
Reassembling vehicles following repairs and carrying out quality inspections
Performing wheel alignment and vehicle safety checks where required
Identifying additional damage and reporting repair requirements
Completing quality control checks and ensuring all repairs meet manufacturer standards
Maintaining accurate repair documentation and job records
Ensuring all safety-critical components are fitted and torqued correctly
Maintaining tools, equipment, and a clean, safe working environment
Working collaboratively with Panel Beaters, Paint Technicians, and Vehicle Damage Assessors to maintain an efficient repair process
About You
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
A minimum of 5 years' experience as an MET Technician, Strip & Fit Technician, or Vehicle MET Technician within a Bodyshop or Accident Repair Centre
Strong mechanical, suspension, and auto electrical knowledge
Experience carrying out high-quality strip and refit work to manufacturer standards
Knowledge of computerised wheel alignment systems
Air Conditioning and Encapsulated Glass qualifications (preferred but not essential)
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing first-class repairs
A positive, team-focused attitude with strong communication skills
Full UK Driving Licence
