Salary: 26,000- 33,000 (dependent on experience)

The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a proactive and organised Science Technician to join a well-regarded secondary school in the Kensington & Chelsea area from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity to support a thriving Science department by preparing practical experiments, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment for pupils across KS3, KS4, and KS5. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teachers to deliver high-quality practical Science lessons.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical Science lessons
Support teachers during practical demonstrations and experiments where required
Maintain laboratories, equipment, and preparation rooms to a high standard
Ensure chemicals and equipment are stored safely and in line with Health & Safety regulations
Monitor and maintain stock levels, ordering equipment and consumables when required
Carry out routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of laboratory equipment
Support the department with administrative tasks, displays, and practical assessments
Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with COSHH regulations
Requirements:
Previous experience working as a Science Technician or within a laboratory environment (desirable)
Good knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics practical work
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Understanding of Health & Safety procedures, including COSHH
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy school environment
