About the Role

Do you believe every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed? Are you passionate about bringing Maths to life and helping pupils discover confidence in their own abilities?

At Parkside House School, we're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Teacher to join our specialist team. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire children and young people with autism, learning difficulties and additional needs through engaging, personalised teaching that helps them achieve more than they ever thought possible.

This is far more than a teaching role. You'll have the freedom to think creatively, adapt your teaching to meet individual needs and work alongside a supportive, multi-disciplinary team who share your passion for transforming lives. Every lesson you deliver will help pupils build confidence, develop independence and celebrate success-both in and beyond the classroom.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality Maths lessons that inspire confidence, curiosity and achievement.
  • Plan and adapt learning to meet the individual needs of pupils with autism and additional learning needs.
  • Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, using assessment to inform future learning.
  • Create a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom where every pupil feels safe, supported and ready to learn.
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development through positive relationships and personalised learning.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Maths curriculum and whole-school improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, families and colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality support.
  • Use a range of creative teaching strategies and resources to maximise engagement and learning outcomes.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or holds a relevant degree in Mathematics.
  • Passionate about inspiring young people and making a genuine difference every day.
  • Experienced in, or eager to develop expertise in, supporting pupils with autism, learning difficulties or additional needs.
  • Creative, adaptable and able to tailor learning to suit individual pupils.
  • A confident communicator who enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team.
  • Calm, patient and resilient, with the ability to build positive relationships and motivate learners.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Motivated to continually develop their skills and contribute to a positive school community.

At Parkside House School, you'll join a passionate team where innovation is encouraged, wellbeing is valued, and every day brings the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people. If you're looking for a rewarding teaching career where your work truly matters, we'd love to hear from you.
