Transactional Finance Manager
Location: Multi-site business Salary: £50-55k Type: Permanent
We are supporting a successful, multi-site organisation in the appointment of a Transactional Finance Manager.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced transactional finance professional who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, leading a team, strengthening financial controls and driving continuous improvement across core finance processes.
The Role
You will lead the Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Credit Control and Bank/Cash functions, ensuring accurate processing, effective controls, timely cash visibility and high-quality balance sheet reconciliations.
Working closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business, you will bring structure, ownership and continuous improvement to a high volume transactional finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the transactional finance team.
- Set and monitor meaningful KPIs across invoice processing, aged debt, cash allocation and bank reconciliations.
- Oversee purchase ledger processes,
- Ensure accurate coding, VAT and compliance with internal controls.
- Manage payment runs and supplier onboarding
- Oversee sales ledger, cash allocation and credit control
- Produce and monitor aged debt reporting
- Ensure appropriate credit checks.
- Oversee daily bank reconciliations.
- Own nominal ledger postings and reconciliations.
- Provide accurate inputs into cashflow forecasting.
- Maintain strong segregation of duties, approval workflows and audit trails.
- Prepare control account reconciliations, including VAT and other key balance sheet accounts.
- Support year end audit and external reporting requirements.
- Identify and implement improvements to transactional finance processes and workflows.

- Experience leading and developing a transactional finance team.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Advanced Excel capability, including pivot tables, lookups and reconciliations.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A process-driven approach and a genuine interest in continuous improvement.
- High integrity, ownership and the ability to work independently.
- Strong experience using financial systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- AAT Level 4 qualified or qualified by experience
- Past experience in a leadership role within transactional finance or as an accounts manager
