Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, accounting standards and Local Government Pension Scheme requirements. Support the delivery of projects and service improvements that enhance operational performance and customer experience. The ideal candidate for the Pensions Manager role will have: A recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIPFA. Previous experience working within public sector finance, ideally with Local Government Pension Scheme knowledge. Strong understanding of public sector accounting principles and financial governance. Experience producing statutory accounts and complex financial reports. Proven people management experience with the ability to motivate and develop staff. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain financial matters to non-financial audiences. Experience driving process improvements and delivering operational efficiencies. Advanced IT and financial systems knowledge, with strong Excel and data analysis skills.
