Service Engineer Diesel Generators
Location: Midlands preferred (UK-wide field-based role)
Salary: £40,000 Basic + Overtime + Company Van
Our client is a leading manufacturer of diesel generators and is looking to recruit an experienced Service Engineer to join their growing UK service team.
This is a home-based role covering customer sites nationwide. Whilst the Midlands is the preferred location, applications are welcomed from experienced engineers across the UK.
The Role
You'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault-finding and repairing diesel generator sets, ensuring customers receive first-class technical support and reliable equipment performance.
Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair diesel generators.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
- Carry out planned maintenance and breakdown response.
- Complete pre-delivery inspections and warranty work.
- Produce service reports and maintain accurate records.
- Provide technical support to customers on-site.
- Travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays.
About You
- Proven experience servicing diesel generators.
- Recognised Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent).
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Able to work independently and provide excellent customer service.
- Full UK driving licence.
