Manager - Warehouse Automation & Solution Design
Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 per annum
Location: Mostly Remote with occasional travel to client sites
A leading global consultancy is looking to expand its Supply Chain & Operations practice with the appointment of a Manager - Warehouse Automation & Solution Design .
This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the world's most recognisable organisations, helping them design and deliver next-generation warehouse and distribution solutions.
You'll play a key role in shaping warehouse automation strategies, developing business cases, selecting cutting-edge technologies, and supporting clients through complex supply chain transformation programmes.
Leading consulting engagements from concept through to implementation, you'll partner with senior stakeholders, technology vendors and systems integrators to deliver innovative, future-ready warehouse solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead warehouse automation and intralogistics transformation projects.
- Design end-to-end automated warehouse solutions, including operating models and solution architecture.
- Evaluate automation technologies including robotics, AS/RS, AMRs, conveyors, sortation and goods-to-person systems.
- Develop business cases and ROI models to support automation investments.
- Support vendor selection, RFP processes and technology evaluations.
- Provide implementation oversight alongside delivery partners and client teams.
- Manage project workstreams while mentoring junior consultants.
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and contribute to business development activities.
Key Requirements:
- Proven consulting or industry experience in warehouse automation, intralogistics or warehouse solution design.
- Experience working across sectors such as retail, grocery, consumer goods, logistics or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including inbound, storage, picking, packing, outbound and returns.
- Experience designing, assessing or implementing automated warehouse solutions.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse automation technologies, robotics and automated material handling systems.
- Experience working with WMS, WCS and WES platforms.
- Strong understanding of supply chain operations, distribution networks and intralogistics.
- Ability to develop business cases and financial models to support automation investments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with system integrators or automation vendors.
- Exposure to large-scale distribution centres and omni-channel or E-commerce fulfilment environments.
- Knowledge of wider supply chain transformation, including network design, planning, S&OP and operating models.
