THE ROLE
As a Workshop Controller, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the workshop, ensuring technicians work efficiently, workshop productivity is maximised, and manufacturer warranty procedures are followed correctly.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and allocating workshop jobs to maximise technician productivity
Managing workshop resources and ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales
Liaising daily with the Service, Parts, and Warranty teams to ensure smooth workshop operations
Monitoring work in progress and providing regular updates to the Service Department
Supporting, coaching, and developing a team of Vehicle Technicians
Carrying out quality control checks and final vehicle inspections
Managing warranty repairs and ensuring all work complies with manufacturer warranty policies
Working closely with the Warranty team to minimise rejected claims through accurate documentation and compliance
Monitoring workshop efficiency, labour utilisation, and productivity
Ordering parts and ensuring jobs progress without unnecessary delays
Maintaining compliance with manufacturer standards and all Health & Safety regulations

ABOUT YOU
We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or similar workshop leadership role within the motor trade
A strong understanding of manufacturer warranty procedures and warranty claim compliance
Experience managing and motivating a team of Vehicle Technicians or Mechanics
Excellent technical knowledge of vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs
Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills
The ability to identify workshop issues quickly and implement effective solutions
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise across Service, Parts, Warranty, and Workshop departments
Good IT and administrative skills
A positive, proactive, and can-do attitude
Full UK Manual Driving Licence (subject to licence checks)
