HGV Class 1 Driving Role

HGV Class 1 Driver (CE) Location: Thrapston, Northamptonshire

About the Role We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 (Category CE) HGV Drivers to join our growing HGV Fleet operation based in Thrapston.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established commercial vehicle business operating a modern fleet. The role involves the safe collection, delivery and movement of HGVs and trailers, supporting workshop operations, customer requirements and fleet movements across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport HGVs and trailers between customer sites, workshops and depots.
• Carry out daily vehicle walk-round inspections and defect reporting.
• Ensure vehicles are delivered safely, professionally and on time.
• Complete all delivery paperwork and electronic POD documentation accurately.
• Comply with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and Tachograph regulations.
• Maintain excellent customer service standards at all collection and delivery points.
• Report vehicle defects or operational issues promptly.
• Keep vehicles clean and presentable while in your care.

Requirements

• Full UK Class 1 (Category CE) Driving Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good knowledge of Drivers' Hours and Tachograph legislation.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach.
• Minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience preferred, although newly qualified drivers may be considered.
