Facilities Assistant (Part-Time) Location: York Rate: £13.45 per hour Hours: 18 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 10:00am - 5:00pm) Contract: Temporary, 6 weeks Start Date: ASAP We are looking for a proactive and organised Facilities Assistant to join a busy Facilities Management team on a temporary basis. This is a varied, customer-facing role where you will help ensure the office environment is safe, clean, well-maintained and welcoming for colleagues and visitors. The Role Key responsibilities will include: Acting as the first point of contact for colleagues, visitors and contractors. Carrying out reception and switchboard duties. Ensuring meeting rooms are prepared, stocked and ready for use. Managing incoming and outgoing post and arranging couriers. Conducting regular site checks to maintain high standards across the office. Reporting and coordinating maintenance issues with relevant stakeholders. Issuing security passes and keys in line with site procedures. Supporting health and safety activities, including routine safety checks and incident reporting. Assisting with purchase orders and monitoring contractor performance. Providing excellent customer service and responding promptly to requests. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Previous experience in a facilities, administration or customer service environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads. A positive, flexible and proactive approach to work. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
