Plan healthy and nutritious menus in a cost-effective way to the service considering any nutritional and dietary requirements and customer opinion Purchasing food from appropriate sources ensuring adherence to strict budgetary control, and in liaison with Centre Manager following procurement guidelines Ensure all provisions are purchased in advance and in accordance with the approved purchasing system and record keeping and maintain effective stock control. Ensure all equipment and machinery in the catering facility is cleaned and maintained at a safe and serviceable level Keep Centre Manager up to date with the performance of the catering service and notify them of any problems with cooking, cleaning, ordering supplies, or equipment required to perform an effective service Record and report any accidents or incidents within the catering facility. To be proactive in promoting the caf and Centre programmes and cater for fund raising activities. Ensure customers are treated in a friendly manner, with courtesy and respect always Lay tables and clear away and clean used crockery and cutlery from eating area Handle cash received responsibly Supervise the work of assistants and volunteers and provide training where necessary in collaboration with the Centre Manager
