We're looking for a Natural Resources Policy & Reporting Advisor to play a pivotal role in driving our environmental ambitions, ensuring our policies, reporting and performance frameworks support a sustainable future.
This is an exciting opportunity for an environmental professional with expertise in policy, reporting, biodiversity and natural capital to influence strategic decision-making across the business and help deliver meaningful environmental outcomes.
What you'll be doing:As our Natural Resources Policy & Reporting Advisor, you'll lead the development, integration and assurance of natural resources policy and reporting across Pennon Group companies.
Working closely with internal teams, regulators and external partners, you'll:
Provide strategic advice to ensure natural resources management aligns with biodiversity objectives, Net Zero commitments and evolving environmental regulation.
Support the development of policy frameworks covering biodiversity, carbon, natural capital and nature-based solutions.
Lead environmental reporting across the Natural Resources function, including biodiversity performance commitments, natural capital metrics and ESG disclosures.
Develop and manage KPI frameworks, ensuring robust performance monitoring and regulatory compliance.
Drive the continual improvement of reporting systems, tools and data platforms to support decision-making and audit requirements.
Coordinate environmental audits and assurance activities, maintaining high standards of data integrity and transparency.
Support the application of the Pennon Common Value Framework, helping embed environmental and social value into investment decisions.
Build strong relationships across the business and with external stakeholders, including regulators and auditors.
Contribute to strategic programmes, innovation initiatives and wider organisational priorities.
We're seeking a motivated and analytical environmental professional who can combine technical expertise with strategic thinking.
You'll ideally have:
Experience in environmental policy, natural capital, biodiversity and sustainability reporting.
Knowledge of environmental regulation and reporting requirements within a regulated industry.
Experience developing KPI frameworks, regulatory submissions and assurance processes.
Understanding of ESG reporting, biodiversity performance commitments and environmental governance.
Experience with natural capital accounting, carbon reporting and biodiversity metrics.
Strong analytical skills and confidence working with environmental datasets and reporting systems, including GIS.
The ability to translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into meaningful business outcomes.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging senior leaders, regulators and external partners.
A highly organised approach with strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering environmental improvement.
