Senior Frontend Engineer - React / TypeScript Location: UK - 1 day per week in Central London Salary: Up to 100K + share options Please note: We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Candidates must have existing right to work in the UK. The Company We're working with a fast-growing accounting-tech startup building automation and AI-powered technology to eliminate the repetitive, spreadsheet-heavy work that in-house finance teams deal with every month. The business has recently passed 1m ARR and is growing quickly, having doubled revenue in 2025. With an established product, growing customer base and international presence, they're now expanding the team as they enter their next phase of growth. This is still a genuine startup environment where individual engineers can have a significant impact on the product, technology and direction of the business. The Role We're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to take a key role in the continued development of the company's core product. You'll report directly to the CPTO and work closely with engineering, product and the wider business to build intuitive, reliable and scalable technology used by finance teams. This is a hands-on position within a small engineering team. You'll have significant ownership, contribute to technical and product decisions, and see the direct impact of what you build. You'll need to be comfortable balancing speed and quality: finding pragmatic ways to test product ideas quickly, then turning successful ideas into scalable, dependable and well-tested features. The frontend stack is centered around React and TypeScript , so strong commercial experience with both technologies is essential. The team also uses MobX and Tailwind , which would be beneficial but aren't required. What We're Looking For Essential Strong commercial React experience; Strong commercial TypeScript experience; Previous startup or scale-up experience; Several years of professional frontend/software engineering experience, operating at Senior Engineer level ; Experience building and maintaining production frontend applications; Strong understanding of frontend architecture, maintainability and testing; A pragmatic, product-focused approach to engineering; Comfortable taking ownership rather than waiting for detailed specifications; Able to work effectively within a small, fast-moving engineering team; Comfortable with the ambiguity and changing priorities that come with a growing startup. Nice to Have MobX experience; Tailwind CSS; Accounting, fintech or financial software experience; Experience working in an early-stage product company; Experience helping shape frontend architecture and technical direction. What's On Offer Salary up to 100K , depending on experience; Share options from day one; 25 days' paid holiday, plus public holidays; Personal learning and development budget; 1 day per week in Central London , with potentially more time in person during onboarding; Direct exposure to senior leadership; Significant ownership and influence over the frontend product and technical direction. Services advertised by Gold Group are those of an Agency and/or an Employment Business. We will contact you within the next 14 days if you are selected for interview.
