Key Responsibilities: - Running, supervising and developing the finance function, finance staff and assisting and contributing to the commercial direction of the business. - Maintain and develop accounting controls and financial discipline including the development of systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's finances, including tight cash control. - Using a financial control framework, including financial accountabilities and authorities to ensure full financial control. - Prepare and analyse financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. - Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes and prepare monthly management accounts. - Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. - Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts. - Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. - Collaborate with auditors during financial audits. - Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures. - Support budgeting and forecasting processes. - Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making. - Consolidation of management accounts. - Assist the Financial Controller as a point of contact to external auditors, tax advisors and HMRC and provide all required and relevant information. - Management, development, appraisal and supervision of relevant accounts office staff. The Successful Applicant: - ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent - Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Sage software. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
