Our client are specialists in their market sector, they have an outstanding opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.

The Job you'll do

  • Conduct quality assessments and audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Evaluate new suppliers and conduct periodic audits of existing suppliers to assess performance.
  • Recommend and implement improvements for supplier quality systems.
  • Review and approve supplier documentation, including PPAPs, FMEAs, and control plans.
  • Review customer contract documentation and flow down QA requirements, including ITP, APQP, etc.
  • Ensure that incoming materials and components meet required specifications through inspection and testing.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve non-conformance issues and develop corrective action plans (CAPA).
  • Coordinate witness of supply chain activities.
  • Ensure consistency in supplier quality management between UK and India operations.
  • Perform product verification in supplier's facility where required.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives, improving product quality and reducing costs.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement activities in our facility in India.
  • Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance supplier processes and reduce defects.
  • Provide training and support to suppliers and our facility in India to help them meet quality expectations.
  • Responsible for ensuring product and material certification from suppliers is received and reviewed.
  • Maintain records of quality assessments, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Generate reports on supplier performance, including defect rates and quality trends.
  • Communicate supplier quality issues to relevant internal teams and management.
  • Develop and maintain a vendor rating system.
  • Develop and manage standard policies, processes, and programs for the supplier base
  • Assist in business improvement projects and corrective action as required.
  • Deputise for colleagues, & undertake related tasks.

About You

  • 2+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, SPC, and PPAP.
  • Attention to detail, good communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel to supplier sites both in the UK and internationally.
  • HNC in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (desirable).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification. (desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Subject to a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
