Ashdown Forest Full-Time Exceptional Outdoor Nursery Environment

We're recruiting on behalf of a beautiful nursery located within the stunning Ashdown Forest area, offering a rare opportunity for an experienced Baby Room Leader to join a setting that genuinely values childhood, outdoor learning and staff wellbeing.

Set within the beautiful Ashdown Forest countryside, this established nursery combines outstanding early years practice with a strong love of nature and outdoor learning.
Children enjoy daily outdoor experiences, regular walks and access to additional woodland areas, allowing them to explore, discover and develop confidence through meaningful experiences.
The nursery currently cares for 128 children across three rooms and is supported by a dedicated leadership team, wellbeing coordinator, administrator and experienced practitioners who share a genuine passion for early years education.
This is a nursery where relationships matter, ideas are welcomed and staff are encouraged to grow professionally.
The Opportunity
As Baby Room Leader, you will take ownership of a warm, nurturing and inspiring environment for the nursery's youngest children.
You'll lead your team by example, ensuring babies receive exceptional care whilst creating an environment where children feel safe, secure and confident to explore the world around them.
You will:
- Lead and inspire the Baby Room team
- Create engaging experiences that support early development
- Build strong partnerships with families
- Champion outstanding safeguarding and care practices
- Support, coach and develop practitioners within the room
- Help shape the future direction of the nursery's provision
Most importantly, you'll play a key role in creating those special early childhood experiences that children and families remember for years to come.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking an experienced Early Years professional who:
- Holds a full and relevant Level 3 qualification or above
- Has strong Baby Room experience
- Enjoys leading, supporting and developing others
- Has excellent EYFS and safeguarding knowledge
- Values outdoor learning and child-led experiences
- Builds positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Brings energy, warmth and professionalism to their work
This role would suit an experienced Room Leader or a strong Senior Practitioner ready to take the next step in their career.
