The company provides risk management, compliance and facilities management services to a property portfolio consisting predominantly of vacant properties, managing the risks and requirements associated with empty buildings. The business has grown significantly, increasing revenue from approximately £2m to £10m over the past two years, and is now looking for the right person to take ownership of the facilities management requirements across a major contract. The contract will initially cover approximately 700 properties in Phase 1, with the portfolio expected to increase to around 6,000 properties in Phase 2. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business at an important stage of its growth. A team will be built around the successful candidate as the contract expands, creating genuine opportunities for career progression, increased responsibility and team management. You will oversee the coordination and delivery of hard FM and compliance works, working closely with subcontractors, clients and internal teams to ensure works are delivered efficiently and within agreed SLAs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinating and overseeing planned and reactive hard FM works across the property portfolio. Managing works across areas including roller shutters, fire systems, water, electrical works, remedials and other building services. Managing and coordinating subcontractors to ensure works are allocated, scheduled and completed within agreed timescales. Building and maintaining strong relationships with the subcontractor network. Acting as a key point of contact for the client, providing clear updates on works, progress, outstanding issues and performance. Monitoring service delivery against agreed SLAs and taking action where performance falls below expectations. Managing multiple properties, contractors and workstreams simultaneously within a fast-paced environment. Chasing subcontractors for updates, attendance dates, completion information and outstanding documentation. Ensuring all systems, job records and compliance information are kept accurate and up to date. Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, processes and service delivery across the contract. Working closely with the wider management team to ensure the contract is delivered effectively. As the portfolio grows, helping to build and develop a team around the contract and taking on increased responsibility. ABOUT YOU The successful candidate must have previous hard Facilities Management experience and a strong understanding of building services, maintenance and compliance. You must have experience dealing with and managing subcontractors, including allocating works, monitoring performance, chasing outstanding jobs and ensuring works are delivered to the required standard and timescale. You will be highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing a high volume of work across multiple properties. You will have excellent communication skills and be confident dealing directly with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders. You will be commercially aware, solution-focused and able to identify issues before they become problems. Strong attention to detail, administration and IT skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure. Most importantly, you will be someone who wants to develop with the business. Candidates must have genuine hard FM experience and subcontractor management experience.
