Senior Accounts Manager
Insite Public Practice Recruitment Limited Cardiff, South Glamorgan
Senior Accounts Manager Cardiff £65,000-£75,000 This role would suit an experienced practice accountant who enjoys running a portfolio properly: knowing the clients, understanding their businesses, reviewing high-quality work and becoming someone owners genuinely call when they need advice. You'll join a profitable and growing independent accountancy firm with an unusually stable team. As Senior Accounts Manager, you'll work closely with an experienced Accounts and Audit Director, providing much-needed senior capacity across a growing client portfolio. What you'll take ownership of Managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses Reviewing statutory accounts and supporting files Planning work and coordinating deadlines across the team Reviewing work prepared by junior and qualified staff Holding regular face-to-face client meetings Resolving accounting queries and identifying issues early Supporting and developing less experienced team members Helping clients access wider services where appropriate Although the wider firm has audit capability, this Senior Accounts Manager position is focused specifically on accounts and business services. You'll need strong experience gained within accountancy, ideally managing or reviewing portfolios of SME and owner-managed business clients. The firm puts considerable emphasis on personal relationships. Clients around Cardiff expect to know their advisers, so someone who enjoys getting out from behind the accounts file will fit far better than somebody looking for a purely technical review role. Why people stay The business has built a high-performing culture without turning itself into a corporate production line. People are trusted with responsibility, progression is encouraged and strong contribution is recognised financially. Investment into the firm is increasing, but the intention is to retain the close-knit feel that has helped make it one of the strongest independent accountancy businesses in the region. Package £65,000-£75,000 Clear progression beyond Senior Accounts Manager Established and profitable client portfolio Strong investment in future growth Supportive senior leadership Long-serving and experienced team Genuine client ownership This is an opportunity to build a long-term career in Cardiff rather than simply add another manager title to your CV.
