Job Description

HGV Technician - Preventative Maintenance

Our client is looking for an experienced Technician to join their team, with an opportunity to develop their skills within HGV preventative maintenance and inspection.

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Training: Full training and qualification support provided

This would be an excellent opportunity for someone with some previous mechanical or vehicle technician experience who is looking to progress their career. The successful candidate will receive full training and support to gain the relevant qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out preventative maintenance and inspections on HGV vehicles.
  • Completing routine servicing, maintenance and safety checks.
  • Identifying mechanical faults and carrying out necessary repairs.
  • Ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard and are safe and roadworthy.
  • Assisting with inspections and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
  • Following company procedures and health and safety requirements.
  • Working as part of a team to ensure vehicles are maintained and available for operation.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Technician, Mechanic or in a similar mechanical role.
  • Some experience working with HGVs or commercial vehicles would be advantageous.
  • A good understanding of vehicle maintenance and mechanical systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Reliable, practical and able to work well as part of a team.
