Maintenance / Facilities Assistant Covering locations across Oxfordshire Up to 28,000 (including 2,000 car allowance) Full Time, Permanent We are looking for a Maintenance / facilities assistant to support the upkeep of our clients independent living schemes across a Oxfordshire. This role combines planned preventative maintenance with responsive repair work, ensuring communal areas and properties remain safe, clean and well presented. Working closely with Housing, Scheme and Facilities teams, you will provide an excellent service to residents while maintaining high standards of property care. Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential. Key Responsibilities: Carry out minor repairs in communal areas and residents' properties. Complete planned maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks. Inspect buildings and estates, reporting and resolving maintenance issues. Maintain communal areas, including external cleaning duties. Prioritise and schedule repairs to meet service targets. Escalate larger repairs to the appropriate contractors or teams. Work closely with Scheme Managers to coordinate maintenance activities. Keep residents informed of repair progress and timescales. Identify and report Health & Safety hazards promptly. Carry out monthly estate inspections and record findings. Maintain maintenance equipment and report defects. Keep accurate records of completed work and inspections. Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times. The Ideal Candidate: Experience carrying out general building maintenance or property repairs. Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating and general maintenance techniques. Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within residential or facilities environments. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads across multiple sites. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently while building positive relationships with colleagues and residents. Experience using handheld devices or maintenance management systems would be advantageous. COSH desirable Full UK driving licence. Personal Attributes Customer-focused with a proactive approach to problem solving. Reliable, organised and able to prioritise competing demands. Practical, hands-on and able to work using your own initiative. Positive team player with a flexible approach to supporting colleagues.
