Finance Assistant

Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract Location: Near Romford, Essex (Office-Based) Hours: 37.5 hours per week

An established and growing organisation within the manufacturing and distribution sector is seeking a Finance Assistant to join its finance team on a six-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional to gain exposure to a broad range of transactional finance responsibilities within a busy and supportive environment.

Your New Role:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function.

Duties will include:

• Processing supplier invoices and matching against purchase orders.
• Managing accounts payable activities and supplier payments.
• Processing BACS and CHAPS payments.
• Handling employee expenses and company credit card transactions.
• Posting daily cash entries and assisting with banking activities.
• Performing bank, supplier, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Supporting month-end processes and reporting.
• Assisting with cash flow updates and financial controls.
• Resolving supplier queries and liaising with internal stakeholders.
• Supporting the finance team with ad hoc accounting duties as required.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Previous experience in a finance assistant, accounts payable, purchase ledger, or similar finance role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• A positive and flexible attitude within a team environment
