We currently have an exciting opportunity to join Fortune Brands Innovations as a Materials Planner within our Supply Chain team based at our Rainham site.

This is a key role within the business, responsible for planning and procuring goods, materials, components and services to support continuity of supply. You'll work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure materials are available in line with cost, quality, stock and delivery requirements, while supporting production, customer order fulfilment and continuous improvement activity.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Planning and procuring materials and services to ensure continuity of supply, while achieving agreed cost, quality and delivery objectives.
  • Managing inventory and material planning activity to maintain effective stock levels through ERP planning parameters, including lead times, safety stock, reorder points, minimum order quantities and supplier schedules.
  • Raising, managing and monitoring purchase orders and supplier schedules to ensure material requirements are executed accurately and on time.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining strong supplier relationships, working collaboratively to resolve delivery, quality, pricing and invoice-related issues.
  • Acting as a key link between suppliers and internal stakeholders, providing timely updates on material availability, supply risks, shortages, delays and recovery plans.
  • Identifying, assessing and escalating supply chain risks and opportunities, taking action to minimise disruption and improve service levels.
  • Preparing, analysing and communicating material planning, inventory and supplier performance data to provide meaningful insight and recommendations.
  • Collaborating closely with Sourcing, Operations, Production and Finance teams to support business objectives, sourcing initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Driving inventory optimisation and process improvements to reduce costs, improve supplier performance, reduce lead times and enhance planning efficiency.
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures, internal controls and Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.

For This Role We Would Need You To Demonstrate:

  • Experience in material planning within purchasing, procurement or supply chain.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and Excel skills.
  • Good communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how supply chain activity impacts operations and customer fulfilment.
  • Experience working with suppliers and business systems or ERP platforms.
  • A collaborative, proactive and adaptable approach, with high levels of integrity and attention to detail.

It would also be beneficial if you have:

  • A CIPS qualification, or are currently studying towards one.
  • Experience of inventory optimisation, cost reduction or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience contributing to supplier performance management and business improvement projects.
