Yard Operative

• Location: Edinburgh, Leith
• Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
• Salary: £15 per hour

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading company in the logistics sector, based in Leith, for a dedicated Yard Operative. This role involves managing day-to-day operations in the yard, including handling orders, inspecting goods, and maintaining a tidy and safe environment. Occasional travel to client sites and suppliers across the UK may be required. This position offers significant opportunities for growth within a dynamic and expanding organisation.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Manage day-to-day operations in the yard.
• Pick orders for outgoing shipments and receive incoming orders.
• Inspect returned goods for any issues.
• Maintain the yard in a tidy and safe manner.
• Assist in quarterly inventory checks.
• Load and unload containers and trucks efficiently.
• Report directly to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Valid driving license.
• Forklift license.
• Proven experience in health and safety practices.
• Proficiency with computers.
• Open-minded and eager to learn new skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Random Drug Testing will be mandatory
