Mechanical Engineering Supervisor Manufacturing

Medway £35,000 - £40,000 DOE Mon Fri, Early Finish Fridays

Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a knack for problem-solving and leading a team?
Do you thrive in a hands-on manufacturing environment where no two days are the same?

We re looking for a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor to take ownership of a busy production department within a well-established manufacturing business. This is a key role for someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, solving technical challenges, and developing people.

What you ll be doing:
  • Leading and organising the day-to-day operations of a busy department

  • Fault finding on bespoke machinery, diagnosing issues and getting equipment back up and running

  • Undertaking tool changes and ensuring machines are set correctly

  • Training and mentoring operatives to build team flexibility and capability

  • Liaising with production teams, toolroom and maintenance to meet targets and optimise performance

  • Supporting continuous improvement activities including Gemba walks

What you ll need:
  • Strong mechanical engineering background apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent

  • Solid hands-on experience in a production/manufacturing environment

  • Proven knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems

  • Experience fault finding and maintaining bespoke machinery

  • Confidence supervising, mentoring and organising people

  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong communication skills
