Location: Oxford, UK (Secure Immigration Facility)

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Bank

Includes: Please note the role will include night shifts as part of the rota.

Salary: NHS Band 6 Equivalent

Be Part of a New Healthcare Service in a Unique Environment

We're launching a brand-new, fully integrated healthcare service at a secure immigration facility in Oxford - and we're looking for experienced Band 6 RGNs to join us at the very beginning. This is your chance to shape service delivery, lead nursing practice, and make a real difference.

You'll be joining a supportive, multidisciplinary team providing holistic, trauma-informed care that meets NHS standards across primary care, mental health, and specialist services.

What You'll Be Doing

In this leadership-level nursing role, you will:

  • Take clinical responsibility during emergency situations
  • Deliver high-quality assessments and triage care
  • Manage minor illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions
  • Lead medication rounds and dispense controlled medication
  • Support and mentor junior staff as part of your leadership responsibilities
  • Take ownership as the lead nurse in a specialist healthcare area (e.g. wound care, LTCs)
  • Engage in reception screening, health promotion, and patient education
  • Ensure healthcare records and practices meet governance and quality standards
What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Adult Registered Nurse (RGN) with active NMC registration
  • Strong background in clinical supervision or mentoring
  • Up-to-date Continued Professional Development (CPD)
  • Able to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent clinical judgement and communication skills
  • Aligned with our values of Compassion, Assurance, Respect, and Equity

Desirable:

  • Mentorship qualification
  • Secure or primary care environment experience
  • Knowledge of wound care, substance misuse, and long-term conditions
  • Triage and venepuncture experience
Security and Clearance Requirements

As this is a role within a secure facility:

  • You must have lived in the UK for the past 5 years with no more than 28 days abroad during this time
  • You must pass an Enhanced DBS Check and obtain Counter Terrorism Clearance (CTC)
  • You must hold valid UK/Irish/EU citizenship or Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)
