Job Description: Print Operator
Location: Corby
Salary: £14 per hour
Shifts: 4 on / 4 off, rotating days / nights
I am looking for a Print Operator to work in a factory environment assisting the Print Manager with ensuring the Print Department is operating to its maximum efficiency to produce high quality products in a safe environment.
The Main responsibilities of this role are outlined below:
- Check the production plan and set up and operate the printing press according to job specifications, running the main press to optimum levels driving performance and output.
- Understand technical requirements specific to print quality and artwork guidance
- Understand and alter colours as required
- Load substrates and inks, adjusting the press setting for tension, speed, colour registration etc.
- To keep optimum quality throughout on all machines whilst adhering to the works order specification sheets
- Inspect printed output for colour accuracy, print clarity and overall quality, adjusting as necessary.
- Ensuring production within the department is run to highest possible.
- Train all new department staff to be sufficiently competent on each
- Support with plate laying whenever necessary to ensure the smooth running of work.
- Organise the shift to drive optimum performance & output from each team member.
- Complete stock takes each week and pass to Production Support.
- Label, wrap and strap pallets ensuring labelling is clear as per the specified sheet.
- Ensure all production sheets are filled out correctly and accurately.
- Ensure samples are taken and all QC paperwork is filled out correctly.
- Achieve daily production targets set by management.
To be considered for this role, we are looking for the following skill / experience:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the blown film extrusion/ flexographic print or conversion processes.
- Production experience with the capability of operating high-speed modern machinery.
- Excellent technical skills.
- Organisational and planning skills.
- Team leadership and team working.
- IT skills.
- Knowledge of colour matching.
- Knowledge of x-rite.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
