General Teaching Assistant (Year 1) - Yardley
Start Date: ASAP Full-Time Long-Term Role
Location: Yardley, Birmingham
Aspire People is currently recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Yardley. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity ideal for a dedicated TA looking to make a real difference in the classroom.
The Role:
As a General Year 1 TA, you will:
Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality education to all pupils
Provide 1:1 and small group interventions for pupils with additional needs
Help to create a positive, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and parents to support pupil progress
Assist with classroom routines, behaviour management and learning activities
About You:
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience working in a primary school, ideally within Key Stage 1
Is confident supporting pupils with additional needs (SEND)
Is proactive, patient, and passionate about helping children thrive
Works well as part of a team and is flexible in their approach
Holds a relevant TA qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable, but not essential)
