Cook - Elderly Care Setting
Location: Burnley
Salary: £12.90 per hour
Hours: 25.5 hours per week, 3 shifts over 7 days (9am - 6pm), one weekend on/one weekend off. Days to be discussed at interview.
Contract: Part-time, permanent
Essential Requirements- Previous experience as a Cook, ideally within a care or similar setting
- Ability to work independently and manage all aspects of a small kitchen
- Knowledge of food safety legislation and nutritional needs
- Confident using a computer for food ordering and paperwork
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to display company values: Honesty, Caring, Respect, Openness
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Ability to commute reliably to Burnley (right to work in the UK required - no sponsorship available)
The RoleAs Cook, you will:
- Prepare wholesome, nutritious meals tailored to residents' choices and dietary needs
- Ensure meals are well-presented and in line with food safety legislation
- Manage food ordering, stock control, and kitchen paperwork
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards in the kitchen
- Work independently to deliver a high-quality meal service for residents
- Contribute to the welcoming, family-feel environment of our not-for-profit charity service
