Site Supervisor / Caretaker - Primary School BB2 Area

• Hours: 25 hours per week, term time only
• Shift Pattern: Split shifts - 6:30am-8:30am & 2:30pm-5:30pm (Monday to Friday)
• Pay: £14.50 per hour
• Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a dedicated Site Supervisor for a primary school in Blackburn. This role is crucial in ensuring that the school premises are maintained to a high standard, providing a safe and welcoming environment for both pupils and staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including opening and securing the premises, minor repairs, and general maintenance.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Open and secure the school premises daily.
• Perform minor repairs and general maintenance tasks to ensure the site is clean, safe, and well-maintained.
• Supervise cleaning staff and support with cleaning duties as required.
• Monitor heating, lighting, and alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Manage deliveries and oversee contractors on site to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure health & safety standards are met across the premises.
• Support with setting up rooms for school events or activities.
• Report any hazards or issues to the school leadership team promptly.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a caretaker or site supervisor role, preferably in a school setting.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Good understanding of health & safety procedures.
• Reliable and proactive with the ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to work split shifts as required.
