Learning Support Assistant

• Hourly Rate: £15 - £20 per hour (including holiday pay)

Reed FE are working with a College in Nottingham and are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide essential support to a visually impaired student. This role is crucial in facilitating the student's daily college activities and ensuring a supportive learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Meet the student at the college upon his arrival by taxi, ensuring a smooth transition from his accommodation to the college environment.
• Accompany the student to classes, assist with taking notes, and guide him around the college premises.
• Ensure the student's safety and comfort throughout the day, including during breaks and transitions between classes.
• Assist the student with lunch arrangements, either on campus or in town, providing companionship and necessary support during the break.
• Coordinate with the student's taxi service to ensure timely and safe transportation back to his residence at the end of the college day.
• Arrive at the college 30 minutes before the start of classes to prepare for the student's arrival.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in a support role for individuals with disabilities, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with and support the student.
• Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to supporting individuals with special needs.
• Ability to work flexible hours according to the student's schedule.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive educational experience.
