Lead Technical Engineer

Contract Opportunity: Lead Technical Engineer - Hybrid (Sellafield Projects)
Rate: 51-55 per hour (Inside IR35)
Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in Warrington office
Sector: Nuclear - MSSS OBLM Projects

We're looking for an experienced Lead Technical Engineer to take a pivotal role in delivering complex engineering solutions on Sellafield's MSSS OBLM projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work on one of the UK's most significant nuclear decommissioning programmes, ensuring safe, innovative, and technically robust design outcomes.
You'll act as the key interface between engineering disciplines, providing technical leadership, coordination, and assurance throughout project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Lead multi-discipline engineering activities across MSSS OBLM projects
• 
  Oversee design development, integration, and verification across project stages
• 
  Provide technical governance, ensuring compliance with Sellafield standards and safety case requirements
• 
  Support design reviews, HAZOPs, and technical risk assessments
• 
  Liaise with project management, operations, and client stakeholders to drive technical delivery
• 
  Mentor and guide junior engineers to maintain engineering excellence

What We're Looking For:

• 
  Proven experience in a lead or senior engineering position within the nuclear or highly regulated sector
• 
  Strong background in systems integration, design coordination, and project delivery
• 
  Sound understanding of Sellafield procedures, standards, and governance (advantageous)
• 
  Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• 
  SC clearance preferred (or ability to obtain)

This is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week based in Warrington, offering the opportunity to contribute directly to one of Sellafield's most critical legacy programmes.
