Chemistry Lab Analyst
Location & Setup: Cambridgeshire - Site based, 4-5 days onsite per week
Package: circa 35,000 - 40,000



The Opportunity

We're partnering with a global leader in the food industry, to appoint a brand new position - Chemistry Lab Analyst. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future in food at a state-of-the-art Innovation Centre launching in 2026.

You'll lead the development and execution of analytical testing strategies, manage lab operations, and turn complex data from HPLC, GC-MS, and other advanced techniques into actionable insights to support innovation, R&D, and quality control. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a scientific environment and wants to make a tangible impact on product excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute experiments based on business needs (DOE).

  • Operate HPLC and GC-MS for fruit composition analysis and quality testing.

  • Maintain, calibrate, and ensure the proper functioning of analytical instruments.

  • Ensure laboratory compliance with Health & Safety regulations and industry standards.

  • Lead lab certification and quality accreditation processes.

  • Interpret analytical results to support product development, innovation, and commercial decisions.

  • Actively contribute to a culture of innovation, efficiency, and excellence.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years' experience in a lab environment (industry or academia).

  • Proven expertise in HPLC, gas chromatography, and mass spectrometry.

  • Knowledge of method development and validation.

  • Familiarity with laboratory quality systems (e.g., ISO standards).

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and scientific communication skills.

  • Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Science, or a related field.

  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently.

The role may involve occasional travel, so a valid passport, clean driving licence, and access to reliable transport are desirable.
