Location: Primarily Bradford, with opportunities in Keighley and Halifax
Salary: £12.21 + Sleep In Allowance ( If required )
Hours: Bank flexible shifts including days, nights, weekends, sleep-ins, and emergency cover
Contract: Bank (as and when required)
Essential Requirements
Experience working with children and young people in residential or care settings
Skilled in managing challenging behaviour and crisis situations
PMVA (or equivalent restraint/behaviour management) training
First Aid qualification
Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and professional boundaries
Understanding of mental health and its impact on young people
Flexibility to work day or night shifts, weekends, and be available for emergency cover
A valid UK driving licence (preferred)
The Role
As a Bank Children s Residential Support Worker, you will:
Provide safe, nurturing, and structured support to children and young people with complex needs
Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using approved techniques
Support children during times of crisis, ensuring their safety and wellbeing
Assist with routines, education, activities, and independent living skills
Respond at short notice to cover staff shortages or emergencies across Bradford, Keighley, and Halifax
Work collaboratively with the permanent team to deliver high standards of care
