SEN MENTOR
About the RoleAre you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people?We're looking for dedicated, empathetic Mentors to support vulnerable children and teenagers in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area. Our mentors help young people develop confidence, resilience, and essential life skills, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Mentors don't just support young people in the here and now. They help kids see into their future, showing them what's possible and inspiring hope, direction and belief in themselves.
As a mentor, you'll work 1:1, building positive relationships, supporting emotional well being, and helping young people navigate life's challenges. Every day brings the opportunity to inspire, encourage, and change a life for the better.
The role will consist of:
Providing consistent mentoring and guidance to children and young peopleSupporting the development of confidence, communication, and social skillsHelping young people set and achieve personal goalsEncouraging engagement in education, hobbies and community activitiesWorking closely with families, schools, and support professionals where appropriate
We're looking for individuals who are:
Teachers with or without QTSSEN Teaching AssistantsYouth Worker/ Pastoral Support StaffFamily Support WorkersCounsellors/Mental Health Practitioners
Requirements: Hold the right to work in the UKHold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new applicationProvide two professional child-related references.£25 per hourDays: Mon - Fri (Term time only)
