Pay: 28.63 limited per hour (Umbrella pay rate) equivalent of
Core Purpose:To assess and manage the risk posed by individuals on probation, ensuring the protection of victims and the public.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional advice and assessments, including written reports for courts, the Parole Board, and partner agencies.
- Supervise individuals on probation under community orders, licences, and custodial sentences.
- Contribute to risk management and public protection strategies.
- Collaborate with criminal justice agencies and community partners to prevent reoffending and support rehabilitation.
- Maintain accurate and timely records using Delius.
- Facilitate effective referrals and inter-agency communication to support positive outcomes.
- Attend and represent the Probation Service at professional and partnership meetings.
- Provide team and cross-team cover as needed.
- Conduct visits to prisons, homes, or alternative locations.
- Administer mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
- Fulfil safeguarding responsibilities in line with statutory duties and policy.
- Model and reinforce pro-social behaviour, challenge anti-social attitudes.
- Uphold the values and objectives of the Probation Service and HMPPS.
Essential Experience- Working with individuals facing diverse social and personal challenges.
- Promoting equality and diversity within varied communities.
- Motivating individuals and groups to change offending behaviour.
- Experience with individuals who have committed offences.
Technical Knowledge- Understanding of the Criminal Justice System and the role of the Probation Service.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and National Standards.
- Proficiency in evidence-based practice and risk/needs assessment tools.
- Fully trained and experienced in completing OASYS assessments.
