If so, Spider is advertising on behalf of a long-established and progressive company within the welding and metalworking industry, who are looking for an Internal Sales professional to join their friendly and growing team based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

The client is a fast-growing business, who are a leader in supplying industrial products to various sectors. They are ISO 9001, 14001, and FORS accredited, providing over 10,000 customers across the UK and worldwide with high-quality welding products, abrasives, power tools, and PPE. You will be joining a dynamic team dedicated to providing a wide range of products and outstanding service.

• Salary: £26,000 £30,160 per annum (DOE) plus ongoing bonus opportunities
• Hours: 40-hour working week (Monday Friday)

About the role:

As Internal Sales, you will be a key player in the company s success. Your focus will be on providing excellent customer service, supporting the external sales team, and ensuring the smooth coordination of day-to-day sales activity.

This position is open to both experienced professionals and enthusiastic learners eager to grow within the role. Full and thorough training will be provided, ensuring you have everything you need to succeed and develop a long-term career.

Your position will begin primarily office-based, but you ll also spend time learning other aspects of the business, giving you a well-rounded understanding of the industry and the chance to develop a career in this sector.

Key duties include:

• Coordinating all aspects of customer service including receiving phone and email enquiries, processing orders, and raising quotations
• Acting as an internal go-to contact for the external sales team
• Supporting VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) by visiting customers to assist with their industrial vending requirements
• Managing your own area within the service department, including training to build and weld-test new machines and hire sets

About you:

To be successful in this Internal Sales role, you will be a confident communicator who is comfortable speaking with customers over the phone and using a computer to manage orders and enquiries. You ll be driven and motivated by success, with a natural ability to build positive relationships and deliver excellent service. A flexible, can-do attitude is key, as is the willingness to get involved and learn new skills.

Although experience in sales or customer service would be beneficial, it s your enthusiasm, drive, and determination to succeed that will make you stand out. An interest in the welding or metalworking industry would be an advantage, although full training will be provided. You ll need to hold a valid UK driving licence and be keen to develop your career.
