Job Description
We are delighted to be working with a leading business based just west of Cambridge as they seek to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their team. Reporting into and working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the day to day running of the finance department. This role is a part time position, for 20 hours per week, and there is a degree of flexibility around how these hours can be worked across the week. The role is a hybrid working position.
As the incoming Finance Assistant, you will be tasked with the following responsibilities. The role will be mainly purchase ledger focused, with the additional responsibilities added over time:
- Preparing sales invoices
- Bank reconciliations
- Preparing VAT returns
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Accruals and Prepayments
- Assisting with year end processes
As the successful applicant, you will possess previous experience working in a similar level role, with good knowledge of double entry bookkeeping and month end processes. You will also have excellent communication skills, both on a written and verbal level, and be organised and accurate in your approach to work. Good system and excel skills will also be required.
