Electrical Engineer

  • Location: Tredegar (with UK-wide travel)
  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Salary: From £32,240 (overtime available) - Hourly rate dependent on experience
  • Start Date: Immediate / Flexible

Join our team as an Electrical Engineer and work on diverse industrial projects across the UK. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in industrial electrical systems, including installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of OEM machinery and other industrial equipment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Carry out electrical installations for OEM machinery, conveyor systems, and other industrial equipment.
  • Conduct fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on both new and existing systems.
  • Support bespoke machinery builds and site-based installations.
  • Interpret and work from industrial electrical schematics.
  • Build and wire electrical control panels to specification.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant health & safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
  • Work both at our Tredegar workshop and on customer sites across the UK.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with 3-phase system installation and distribution.
  • Expertise in motor control wiring, VSD fault finding, and control and safety systems.
  • Proficiency in cable containment systems and termination.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with pneumatic control systems (installation and fault finding).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage own workload.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation.
  • EAL Level 3 or equivalent.
  • AM2 Assessment.
  • BSth Edition Wiring Regulations (required).

Desirable Skills:

  • Ability to fault find on PLCs using software tools.
  • Basic mechanical understanding for assisting during breakdowns.

Working Hours:

  • Standard 40-hour week (08:00-16:00), with flexibility required.
  • Overtime regularly available and expected depending on workload.
  • Occasional night work, weekend work, and overnight stays are expected.
