Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well established and forward thinking planning consultancy in their search for a Planner to join their growing team in Preston.

The RoleAs a Planner, you'll work closely with senior colleagues on a wide variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed use developments. You'll be responsible for preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals, conducting research and site appraisals, and engaging with local authorities, clients, and stakeholders.
Your day to day responsibilities will include:
Preparing planning statements, policy appraisals, and supporting documents
Assisting in the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
Undertaking site assessments and preparing planning appraisals
Monitoring local plan consultations and contributing to policy responses
Engaging with clients, architects, and local authorities throughout the planning process
Supporting senior team members in delivering high-quality planning advice
About You
Degree (and ideally a postgraduate qualification) in Town Planning or a related discipline
Working towards MRTPI accreditation or recently Chartered
1-3 years' experience in a planning role, either within consultancy or local government
Strong understanding of the UK planning system and current policy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage your workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
A proactive and positive approach with a keen eye for detail
