Job Responsibilities/Objectives:
To carry out home installations, cabling, and fibre splicing for the FTTH/Openreach network, ensuring high-quality service delivery. Responsible for installing, testing, and troubleshooting fibre optic systems in residential settings. The role includes working as part of a team, adhering to safety standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Complete home fibre installations on time and to standard.
- Perform cabling, rodding/roping, fibre blowing, and splicing (OH/UG).
- Read and follow network schematics; update as-built drawings.
- Test and troubleshoot fibre connections (OTDR/ILM/power meter).
- Maintain safety and compliance (NRSWA, street works code)
Required Skills/Experience:
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Fibre installation/testing, Openreach/PIA infrastructure, basic IT and drawings interpretation
- BT PIA (SA001/SA002/S7/S8)
- NRSWA 2 Certificate
- Clean driving licence
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:
- Full Streetwork NRSWA 1-8
- SSSTS
- City Guilds 3667
