Contract Duration: 1+ Months
Working Hours: Mon Fri, 09 00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 12.45 per hour

Job Responsibilities
-
Collect household waste or recycling from properties in the Torridge area.

Promote recycling and waste minimization to the public.

Drive council vehicles when needed.

Follow Health & Safety practices and report any vehicle or equipment issues.
-
Assist the driver in reversing the vehicle.
-
Ensure all waste bins are placed back correctly to avoid safety issues.
-
Use fuel cards according to Council s regulations.
-
Provide cover for cleansing or refuse contracts as required.
-
Check for contamination in organic waste bins when needed.
-
Clean up any spilt material from the kerbside.
Person Specifications
Must Have
-
Basic reading and writing skills.
-
Full UK driving license.
-
Ability to work independently and in a team.
-
Understanding of Health and Safety, including Manual Handling.

Experience dealing with customers or the public.
-
Experience working in all weather conditions.
-
Flexible approach to work and willingness to learn.
-
Good fitness level for the job requirements.

Good verbal communication skills.
-
Ability to work on Saturdays, especially after Bank Holidays.
Nice to Have
-
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
-
Understanding of waste/recycling operations.
-
Previous experience in waste/recycling collection.
-
Experience with task & finish operations.
