Health and Safety Advisor - About the Role - Production Supervisor, Foreman, Manufacturing, Team Leader, Supervisor

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with practical, shop floor experience who is ready to make health and safety their primary focus. You will be responsible for:

  • Being a visible presence on the shop floor, actively walking around and observing operations.

  • Conducting risk assessments and implementing safe systems of work.

  • Ensuring all employees adhere to health and safety procedures and regulations.

  • Serving as the first point of contact for health and safety inquiries and concerns.

  • Assisting with administrative tasks, such as preparing for audits and managing paperwork.

This role is a "people job" you'll be interacting directly with our teams, fostering a culture of safety, and helping them understand and implement best practices. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running on the shop floor, leveraging their existing knowledge of production environments and practical safety.

Health and Safety Advisor - What We're Looking For - Production Supervisor, Foreman, Manufacturing, Team Leader, Supervisor

  • Experience: Proven background in a production supervisory role (e.g. Production Supervisor, Charge Hand, Foreman) where health and safety was a significant, though not exclusive, part of your responsibilities.

  • Qualifications: Essential to hold an IOSH qualification and to have gone through a Managing Safely

  • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of health and safety principles within a manufacturing or production setting.

    • Ability to identify hazards and assess risks effectively.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with shop floor personnel.

    • Proactive and detail-oriented approach to safety management.

    • Capable of supporting administrative tasks related to health and safety.
