Control Systems Engineer

Futures are supporting an established engineering business near Leeds in their search for a Control Systems Engineer. The appointed Control Systems Engineer will have a strong technical background in electrical panel design, PLC programming, and industrial control systems. You ll be involved in every stage of the project lifecycle from initial concept and design through to build, testing, and on-site commissioning.

Control Systems Engineer - Role & Responsibilities Electrical Design / Control Panel / Controls / Automation / PLC / HMI / SCADA / Programming

• Design and develop control panels using electrical AutoCAD.
• Prepare system design specifications in line with project and client requirements.
• Carry out PLC and HMI programming and assist with panel testing.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
• Provide on-site commissioning and technical support during installation and start-up.
• Ensure all work complies with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Produce key documentation including wiring diagrams, BOMs, functional design specifications, and test protocols.

Control Systems Engineer - Skills & Experience - Electrical Design / Control Panel / Controls / Automation /PLC / HMI / SCADA / Programming

• Proven experience in electrical panel design and system integration.
• Proficient in CAD software (preferably AutoCAD Electrical).
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of industrial control systems and electrical schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel for occasional UK or international site commissioning.
• A full UK driving licence.
