Student Support Worker

Prospero Teaching is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Poole for a dedicated and enthusiastic Student Support Worker. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a team committed to supporting students with disabilities in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Contract Details:

  • Location: Poole, Dorset
  • Position: Education Support Worker
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract Type: Temp to Perm
  • Hours: 32.5 hours per week
  • Pay: From GBP14.46 per hour
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students throughout the school day in a range of subjects and activities, including Reading, Maths, ICT, PE, Swimming, Dance, Drama, Food Tech, and Music
  • Promote and reinforce students' self-esteem, independence, and social development
  • Communicate effectively with students using their preferred methods of communication
  • Provide direct care to students in line with agreed standards
  • Assist with setting up and tidying classrooms before and after lessons
  • Build positive, professional relationships with students and colleagues
  • Support students in their physical, emotional, and educational development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (preferably with additional needs)
  • A positive, caring, and adaptable attitude
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to undertake training and development
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced child-only DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
  • Ability to provide two professional references
