Facilities Assistant
Location: Gaysham Avenue, Ilford, IG2 6TD
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Working Hours: Mon Fri, 09 00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £16.36 Per Hour

Job Responsibilities

Work with the Facilities team to handle caretaking duties and respond to help desk requests.

Ensure buildings, rooms, and equipment are safe, clean, and ready for use, including at outreach venues in Ilford and Hainault.

Hold keys and support site security, including opening and closing the main site in Gants Hill.

Maintain compliance with health and safety requirements, working with the Borough's Property Services team.

Secure buildings and grounds, deter trespassing and unauthorized parking.

Conduct regular security risk assessments.

Assist with routine maintenance and repairs, liaising with contractors as needed.

Keep the site tidy and liaise with contractors as necessary.

Handle help desk requests efficiently, providing responsive customer service.

Manage deliveries of equipment and materials promptly.

Regularly check public areas and toilets for cleanliness.

Keep caretaking/cleaning storage areas tidy and maintain stock levels, following COSHH regulations.
Person Specifications
Must Have:

Experience in facilities management or a similar role.

Understanding of health and safety regulations.

Ability to perform routine maintenance and handle security tasks.

Good customer service skills.

Ability to work as part of a team.
Nice to Have:

Experience working with external contractors.

Knowledge of COSHH regulations.

Experience in key holding and site security.
