About the RoleWe are seeking a Care Assistant to join a specialist educational facility in Southampton. This full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to support students with autism and ADHD, helping them thrive in a structured, nurturing environment. About the SchoolThe school provides a supportive learning environment for children and young people aged 4 16 with autism and ADHD. With a small student population of around 100, the school focuses on individualised care and education, ensuring every student receives tailored support that promotes independence, well-being, and educational development. The dedicated team works collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and families to create a safe and inclusive environment. Free on-site parking is available.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide personal care and assistance to students with autism and ADHD.
Support students with daily routines, including mobility, feeding, and hygiene.
Encourage engagement in educational and social activities.
Create a safe, comfortable environment tailored to students sensory and emotional needs.
Collaborate with teaching staff and therapists to implement individual learning and care plans.
Maintain accurate records and report concerns to the appropriate staff members.
Previous experience in a care assistant or similar role, ideally within an educational or healthcare setting.
Understanding of autism, ADHD, and associated sensory/behavioural needs.
Patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with students.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality practices.
Enhanced DBS check (support available if required).
